EMERGENCY SUPPORT TO ENSURE FOOD AND NUTRITION SECURITY IN WAR AFFECTED RURAL COMMUNITIES ALONG THE FRONT LINE

Project Description

The agricultural sector in frontline regions of Ukraine has suffered critical losses. The destruction of infrastructure and landmine contamination have deprived a significant portion of the rural population of their livelihoods, making traditional farming and livestock breeding impossible. Disrupted food supply chains further increase the risk of food insecurity for vulnerable communities

As part of the FAO humanitarian response, the project focuses on supporting households headed by women and or elderly people. Its goal is to restore the productive capacity of private farms, ensure access to critically important agricultural resources, and strengthen the resilience of rural communities, preventing further humanitarian decline in rural areas
