Project Mission

To establish a sustainable and effective support mechanism for children facing difficult life circumstances, ensure prompt response to their challenges, adapt assistance to individual needs, and provide mental health support in order to improve socialization and integration into society. The project also promotes effective cooperation with parents, legal guardians, teachers, and other professionals involved in child development

Project Relevance

At the beginning of 2022, 421,000 children and adolescents aged up to 18 lived in Kharkiv Oblast. At least 10 percent of them had mental health disorders. The onset of the full-scale war significantly increased the number of requests for psychological assistance, including cases where no special educational needs had previously been diagnosed

According to a statement by the World Health Organization as of December 2022, more than 25 percent of Ukraine’s population became vulnerable to mental health disorders. In Kharkiv Oblast alone, this amounts to approximately 300,000 people. Therefore, at least 105,000 children and adolescents in Kharkiv Oblast require systematic diagnostics and psychological support

Training senior students of specialized higher education and vocational institutions within child-friendly spaces to build a кадровий reserve with the ability to quickly integrate trained specialists into corrective project activities

Education for Health

Project Description

The project was created to improve public awareness of mental and physical health issues, self-help strategies, and first aid. This is particularly relevant for crisis-affected territories where residents face threats to physical safety, destruction of infrastructure, interruptions in water and electricity supply, and limited access to timely medical and psychological assistance.

These factors contribute to the spread of infectious diseases, the worsening of chronic conditions, and an increase in cardiovascular diseases among the population. The project aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 3 Good Health and Well-Being

Project Goal

To increase public awareness of methods for the prevention, detection, and treatment of common mental and physical health conditions

Project Objectives

  • Developing educational materials for thematic lectures and practical training sessions
  • Informing and engaging residents of crisis-affected territories in project activities
  • Distributing printed and digital informational materials among participants
