The project aims to support public health and enhance the protection of socially vulnerable groups by supplying healthcare institutions with humanitarian medicines for further distribution to patients free of charge and on a non-discriminatory basis

Project Objective

To support public health and strengthen the protection of socially vulnerable groups by providing healthcare institutions with humanitarian medicines for further free and non-discriminatory distribution to patients

Among the beneficiaries, the following categories can be distinguished:

  • large families
  • elderly people
  • low-income citizens
  • people with disabilities
  • internally displaced persons
  • other socially vulnerable groups

We seek to strengthen the capacity of Ukraine’s public healthcare system to meet the needs of medical institutions for essential medicines, equipment, and medical supplies. Our goal is not only to respond to crises but to provide systematic support to the national healthcare system so that it remains a reliable pillar for millions of Ukrainians

Project Objectives

  • Ensuring urgent medical supply needs in Oblasts with high levels of social vulnerability
  • Engaging partners and donor organizations to strengthen the project at the stages of procurement, collection, and formation of humanitarian medical shipments
  • Establishing a transparent and accountable system for tracking, distribution, and reporting of donated medicines
  • Maintaining communication with healthcare institutions regarding current needs and the effective delivery of assistance

Who Is the Assistance Intended For?

  • State and municipal healthcare institutions of Ukraine

The provision of humanitarian medicines makes it possible to:

  • educe the risk of patient hospitalization
  • prevent complications of chronic diseases
  • maintain a basic level of medical security in the Oblasts

HUMANITARIAN AID TO HEALTHCARE INSTITUTIONS OF UKRAINE DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Project Description

With the assistance of the charitable organization Direct Relief (USA) and the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States of America, a humanitarian shipment of monoclonal antibody medicines was delivered to Ukraine. The shipment included the COVID-19 treatment combination Bamlanivimab 20,000 doses and Etesevimab 40,000 doses

Project Partners: Direct Relief (USA), Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine

Project Objective: to supply healthcare institutions of Ukraine with specialized medicines Ethambutol, Pyrazinamide, and Rifampicin for tuberculosis treatment in accordance with established treatment protocols, ensuring access to essential medicines and supporting tuberculosis treatment programs

Procurement details: Ethambutol, Pyrazinamide, and Rifampicin were purchased from the Public Joint Stock Company Scientific and Production Center Borshchahivskiy Chemical and Pharmaceutical Plant, the only manufacturer of these medicines in Ukraine

Nephrological Care

Project Objective

To provide specialized equipment, medicines including Emavayl, and related laboratory materials to improve the diagnosis and treatment of patients with chronic kidney failure undergoing peritoneal dialysis

Project Description

Within the project, 80 Anker charging stations and necessary accessories for patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis were purchased and delivered. Medicines were procured and distributed, including a 2.5 month supply of erythropoietin, along with related laboratory materials for patients receiving peritoneal dialysis
